According to reports, Apple's 2022 MacBook Air will not be available in a variety of iMac-like hues

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, expectations should be kept in check.

It's possible that the 2022 MacBook Air won't arrive in as many colors as expected. Bloomberg's Gurman claimed suggestions that the new model would arrive in "many hues" were likely "exaggerated" in a tweet on Friday evening. Apple is expected to release the MacBook Air in four colors in 2022: space grey, silver, blue, and gold, according to him. According to Gurman, the final color will be more "champagne-like" than Apple's present gold. Most reports leading up to WWDC 2022 stated that the 2022 MacBook Air would have a new chassis similar to the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro. Furthermore, according to leaker Jon Prosser and others, the new model will have a white keyboard, leading to suspicion that Apple may offer the machine in a variety of colors, similar to the recently remodelled 24-inch iMac. On the first day of WWDC 2022, Apple is largely expected to unveil the new MacBook Air. "The only way it doesn't," Gurman later tweeted, "is if the China factory shutdowns created such a supply and release date gap that it wouldn't make sense to announce it on Monday." We won't have to wait long to find out what Apple has planned for the MacBook Air, given WWDC is only a few days away. Even after all these years, Apple can still persuade consumers to wait up all night for its latest release. We can almost see the lines forming around the block as the anticipation for the 2022 MacBook Air debut reaches new heights. Seriously. Granted, the new technology and plethora of updates are enough to entice even the most computer illiterate among us. But, if we're being absolutely honest, the news that the MacBook Air will be available in a larger range of colors in 2022 was the biggest drawcard. Why settle with space grey when you can have ice purple instead? Although Apple hasn't explicitly confirmed the additional color possibilities, according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this is expected to be a key feature of the 2022 MacBook Air. The laptops are expected to come in purple, green, yellow, orange, blue, and pink, similar to the colorful iMacs that were unveiled in April 2021. These would be added to the space grey, gold, and silver selections already available. Along with cosmetic modifications, Ming-Chi Kuo has stated that the 2022 MacBook Air would have a thinner and lighter design, which seems unlikely given that the last edition weighed only 1.29kg. Off-white bezels and a corresponding off-white keyboard are also included in the latest edition. And, perhaps most crucially, Apple is rumored to be designing the next MacBook Air with its own M1 chip, putting an end to rumors that it would instead use the M2.
